Who We Are
- Disabled People South Africa (DPSA) was founded during the struggle against Apartheid, when black South Africans with disabilities faced double discrimination — both racial and disability-based.
- Born out of the liberation movement, DPSA continues to fight for self-representation, integration, and full participation of people with disabilities in every sphere of life.
- DPSA is Registered under the NPO Act (No. 71 of 1997).
- We operate in all 9 provinces.
- We are recognized nationally
and internationally (by Disabled Persons
International).
Our Mission
- To be an effective and efficient democratic national assembly of all disabled persons, which mobilises us to advocate for our rights, for the attainment of equal opportunity in an integrated social, political and economic environment
